ABSTRACT

One of the businesses that can provide support to the economy is cooperative. However, the fact shows that cooperative is still far behind from the other businesses. The development of cooperative performance is relatively low due to the classical reasons, among others, the lack of professional management, capital, and response to competition and rapidly growing market. In order to achieve good performance, it needs managerial ability of the managers/leaders, supportive external environment, and organization.

Results of research conducted on the cooperative and savings and loans unit in Salatiga on “the influence of managerial ability, the external environment, and organizationtoward the financial performance”suggests that there is significant influence between the three factors toward the financial performance, either partially or collectively.

The results of the study can be used as a reference to improve the financial performance of cooperative so that the cooperative managed can be classified as very well and healthy, according to the classification of healthy cooperative No.129/KEP/M.KUKMI/XI/2002. Cooperative managers/leaders can improve theirs kills in the fields of finance, the use of current technology;  understand and motivate the employees to be creative.

ABSTRAK

            Salah satu pelaku bisnis yang dapat memberikan dukungan terhadap perekonomian adalah koperasi. Dalam kenyataannya koperasi masih jauh tertinggal dari pelaku bisnis lainnya. Perkembangan kinerja koperasi relatif rendah dikarenakan adanya alasan klasik, antara lain pengelolaan yang kurang profesional, lemahnya modal, kurang merespon persaingan dan pasar yang berkembang pesat.Untuk dapat mencapai kinerja yang baik diperlukan adanya kemampuan manajerial dari manajer/pimpinan koperasi, kondisi lingkungan eksternal dan organisasi koperasi.

            Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada koperasi dan unit simpan pinjam di Salatiga mengenai pengaruh faktor kemampuan manajerial, lingkungan eksternal, organisasi terhadap kinerja finansial membuktikan ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara faktor kemampuan manajerial, lingkungan eksternal, organisasi terhadap kinerja finansial

            Hasil penelitian dapat digunakan sebagai acuan untuk meningkatkan kinerja finasial sehingga koperasi yang dikelola dapat masuk dalam klasifikasi sangat baik, sehat sesuai dengan klasifikasi koperasi no.129/KEP/M.KUKMI/XI/2002. Manjer/pimpinan koperasi dapat meningkatkan keahliannya baik di bidang keuangan, penggunaan teknologi terkini, memahami dan memotivasi para karyawan untuk kreatif.
