Abstract

The issue of the village with all its resources has been around for a long time, to answer all of that, the government issued Law no. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages with all the optimization of the use of existing resources so that they become solutions to village problems, this study aims to describe and analyze the Development of Village Potential Towards a Tourism Village in Bermi Village, Mijen District, Demak Regency with qualitative methods that produce descriptive data, with reference to on the theory and analysis of SWOT (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunity, and Threats). The development of village potential as an effort to increase village original income, growth, and development of tourist villages is not solely the role of one stakeholder/ but requires active participation from the community. The desire of the Bermi Village Government together with the community in developing the potential of the village to become a tourist village has not been realized. This is because the village government has not made any rules in the form of Village Regulations or Village Head Regulations regarding tourist villages. The potential that can be developed for a long time is the Coupled Well, this can be the main capital as the mascot, icon, and jargon of Bermi Village, "to the Coupled Well, Definitely to Bermi", Village innovation towards a tourist village has not been arranged, only the addition of the entrance gate building to the Sumur Gandeng page. Visitors who come to the Sumur Gandeng Well are only people who have special interests (rituals), not visitors who enjoy the beauty of tourist sites. Bermi Village community participation is still influenced by village elders and is still passive participatory or “sendiko dawuh”. The management of the tourist village is carried out by the Village Government, only assisted by a few people from the community whose only task is to maintain environmental conditions around the Articulated Well.
